Firstly, if gaining some weight is truly Daphne's worst fear, that just proves that she is a really vain person. Nope, the curse changes Daphne from a size 2 to a size 8. And by losing her looks, I don't mean that her face becomes hideously scarred or anything like that. (Those two are adorable.) Daphne loses her looks. Shaggy and Scooby, for instance, lose their appetite.
#DAPHNE SCOOBY DOO COSTUME MOVIE#
In a movie called Scooby-Doo! Frankencreepy, all of the gang have to lose something that they hold dear. Scooby-Doo managed to do just that when it featured a story that had Daphne suffer a strange curse. With fare like that, it's not easy for a show to deal a shock to my sensibilities. I consume South Park and Robot Chicken like it's my bread and butter. It's not often that a cartoon will offend me. (And, conversely, one of the happiest moments for Fred.) Failing to entice John Cena may be one of the saddest moments in Daphne's life. The show goes out of its way to say that Daphne is a catch, but then, when it comes to her trying to actually gain the favor of someone, she fails. John Cena clearly had his mind focused on the mystery. No matter how hard she tried to get his attention, it was like she was trying to entice a wall to hang out with her. Unfortunately for Daphne, John Cena was completely immune to her charms. Whenever John Cena was near, it was like Fred who? Daphne finds herself immensely taken with the muscular John Cena, and she keeps making subtle hints in his direction. (I can't stop hearing John Cena memes now.) At one point, a giant boulder rushes towards the gang, and John Cena leaps in front of it and wrestles it away. Even wrestlers are not immune to the charm of appearing on Scooby-Doo. John Cena got a spot in a Scooby-Doo special, to hilarious effect.

Famous actors, singers, and sports stars have given their voices to cartoon versions of themselves and helped Mystery Inc. One of the cool things about watching Scooby-Doo is that you occasionally get to see an episode with a really cool guest star (or a mediocre one, but I won't judge). Even I, a huge Scooby-Doo fan, was surprised by a lot of these things. Read on if you want to go over some of the most unbelievable occurrences that Daphne has had to put up with. The amount of trash she has had to endure is insane. (She chased down stories of ghosts, but still, I think that's better than being a career damsel.) She still never became my favorite character ( I'm a Velma fan all the way), but she definitely got improved.ĭespite this, Daphne still had her moments, and by moments, I mean times when she either had some of the weirdest things happen to her or she made some of the strangest decisions of the gang. At one point, when the group had temporarily disbanded, Daphne even pursued a career in journalism. She wasn't the only one who was routinely captured, and she even became one of the more enthusiastic members of Mystery Inc. That appeared to be her only "thing."Īs Scooby-Doo got more television iterations, as well as some movies, Daphne developed as a character, and she became more palatable. What was Daphne's "thing?" She was the fashionably pretty damsel in distress. Compared the them, Daphne seemed unappealing.

Scooby was the cowardly dog, Shaggy was the cowardly best friend of Scooby with a never-ending appetite, Velma was the genius or the group, and Fred was the ascot-wearing leader. Daphne was never my favorite character in Scooby-Doo. Each character had a "thing" that made them unique from the others.
